1997
A humble beginning
Charlie Atsas starts selling bunches of fresh-cut flowers on consignment to convenience stores and service stations across the Illawarra.
About Bunches
What began as a humble operation selling flower bunches at the service station has grown into two of the Illawarra’s most loved floristry destinations — and a national champion to boot.

Bunches Florist is a proudly family-owned and operated florist in the heart of the Illawarra, established in 1997 by Charlie Atsas. What began as a humble operation selling flower bunches on consignment to convenience stores and service stations grew to serve over 60 retail outlets across the region.
In the 1990s, the Atsas family relocated to Bulli and established “Bulli Bunches.” By 2005, with Charlie’s three children involved full-time in the business, they opened a second location on Crown Street in Wollongong. Today, both stores operate seven days a week with a team of fifteen passionate staff members.
Behind every arrangement is a team of skilled florists who source the freshest exotic cut flowers from local growers and the Sydney Flower Market. The shops also stock a curated range of potted plants, candles, hand-painted votives, decorative pots, soaps, gift bags, chocolates and soft toys.
Whether it’s a wedding bouquet carefully crafted by floral stylist Maria Atsas, a same-day delivery to brighten someone’s day, or a beautiful potted plant for the home, Bunches Florist brings the beauty of nature into everyday life with love and artistry.
